Gravity, Geometry, and Equivalence

چکیده
We show that the energy-momentum four-vector of a planet, p = mu, is conserved during geodesic motion. Therefore, there is no exchange of energymomentum with the gravitational field. We discuss the meaning of a gravitational field which is free of energy, momentum, and stress.

Fabbri On the Principle of Equivalence
We discuss the Principle of Equivalence in its relationship with Weyl Theorem to induce the interpretation of gravity as geometrical effect; this geometrization of gravity is meaningful only if the geometry is restricted in a certain way. We show what is the most general geometry in which gravity can be geometrized according to the fundamental idea expressed through Weyl theorem by the Principl...
متن کاملTime-fixed geometry of 2nd order ODEs
Abstract : Let be a 2nd order ODE. By Cartan equivalence method, we will study the local equivalence problem under the transformations group of time-fixed coordinates. We are going to solve this problem by an applicable method which has been recognized by R. Gardner, and classify them.
متن کاملIs gravity an intrinsically quantum phenomenon ? Dynamics of Gravity from the Entropy of Spacetime and the Principle of Equivalence
The two surprising features of gravity are (a) the principle of equivalence and (b) the connection between gravity and thermodynamics. Using principle of equivalence and special relativity in the local inertial frame, one could obtain the insight that gravity must possess a geometrical description. I show that, using the same principle of equivalence, special relativity and quantum theory in th...
متن کاملDark Energy and Emergent Spacetime
A natural geometric framework of noncommutative spacetime is symplectic geometry rather than Riemannian geometry. The Darboux theorem in symplectic geometry then admits a novel form of the equivalence principle such that the electromagnetism in noncommutative spacetime can be regarded as a theory of gravity. Remarkably the emergent gravity reveals a noble picture about the origin of spacetime, ...
متن کاملTwo-Dimensional Quantum Gravity
We show equivalence between the standard weak coupling regime c > 25 of the the two-dimensional quantum gravity and regime h < 1/2 of the original geometric approach of Polyakov [1, 2], developed in [3, 4, 5]. 1 In this letter I shall demonstrate the equivalence of two approaches to the twodimensional quantum gravity. The first approach, called geometric, goes back to Polyakov’s original discov...
